How we protect your data
Data residency in your region
The Plainsight AI Assistant is deployed in your Azure tenant, in the Azure region you choose. Data stays where you put it. West Europe, North Europe, or any other Azure region. You decide.
No transatlantic transfers
If you deploy in the EU, your data stays in the EU. No routing through US data centres. No backup replication to other continents. The data sovereignty you need for GDPR compliance.
No model training on your data
LLM providers never see your data in a way that could be used for training. Zero data retention policies are enforced at the API level. Your conversations are yours. Not training material.
Right to deletion
Users can request deletion of their conversation history. Admins can delete department data. The platform respects the right to erasure as defined in GDPR Article 17.
European cloud options
Deploy on Azure, or choose European-sovereign cloud providers like OVHcloud or Scaleway. For maximum sovereignty, on-premises deployment is available on the Enterprise tier.
Data flow: what happens when a user sends a message
User sends a message
The message stays within your Azure tenant. Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+).
RAG retrieves context
Your documents are searched within your Azure tenant. No external calls.
LLM generates a response
The prompt is sent to the LLM API with zero-retention. No data is stored by the LLM provider. The response is returned to your tenant.
Response is stored
The conversation is stored in your Azure tenant. Encrypted at rest. Accessible only by authorised users and admins.
